No. 8 St. Ignatius earns Ryan Franzinger his first win, 16
MENTOR, Ohio — The final minute and five seconds of Ryan Franzinger’s first win as St. Ignatius’ football coach will be remembered as a blur.
His team chewed up more than six minutes off the clock in the fourth quarter, leaving Mentor with just 1:05 left after a punt to the 36-yard line. Frantically, junior quarterback Scotty Fox rallied the Cardinals into field-goal range. They had a shot at the end zone before St. Ignatius senior linebacker Ryan Ardire nailed him in the backfield with the clock ticking and the ball pushed back to the 30-yard line.
